Lumo by Proton: Cat Character Design & Illustration

Lumo is Proton’s purple cat mascot, developed to bring warmth, personality and expression to the privacy-first technology brand.

As part of the project, I worked on Lumo’s character design, visual development, expressive illustrations and “Lumojis”, a set of character expressions designed to convey emotion, action and personality throughout the product experience.

This illustration shows Lumo stalking a mechanical mouse, a small visual metaphor for data harvesting. The pose, expression and body language were designed to make Lumo feel lively, focused and mischievous while still fitting naturally within Proton’s wider visual language.
