Moneymonk – New Logo

I often get the chance to work with clients who are happy with their general branding, but need a new logo that better reflects their values. Always a fun challenge to create something fresh that fits seamlessly.

Moneymonk is a bookkeeping tool for freelancers and small businesses in The Netherlands. They're bootstrapped, profitable, and family owned. The old logo was done by a friend and, after almost a decade, in serious need of replacement. For the new logo they wanted something fun, friendly, and approachable.

We explored symbols related to money, investing and growth. Ultimately we landed on a friendly and human direction that shows that Moneymonk puts a smile on your face. The M are both the eyes, and a subtle chart and combined with the smile it's a little nod to the previous face. For the typeface we went with Gianis because of the compact y and k, keeping the wordmark compact and easy to balance with the logo.

In the end it was a project that left both the client and me with a good feeling and a grin. I'd love to know what you think, so let me know in the comments!
